KREUS Students Present at Symposium

This summer, the Kellner Center invited two students from the University of Illinois Springfield to the inaugural Kellner Research Experience for Undergraduate Students (KREUS) Program. Addie Seiz and Gavin Pfeiffer spent nine weeks on the Urbana-Champaign campus to conduct research with the Sadaghiani and Rudolph labs respectively and attended professional development workshops through the Illinois Summer Research Program Alliance (ISRPA).
This culminated in the 2026 STEM Career Exploration and Symposium, where they both presented posters on the research they completed over the summer. Seiz presented on "The Impact of Cognitive Domain Switching on Response Time and Accuracy" and Pfeiffer on "Metformin, a Mild Inhibitor of Mitochondrial Complex I, Reverses Lateral Ventricular Enlargement and Spatial Working Memory Deficits in a Mouse Model for Schizophrenia."
The Kellner Center has appreciated the contributions and hard work of both students and look forward to celebrating their future successes.
