The Brain Evolution and Mental Health Conference aims to bring together scientists and clinicians interested in exploring the brain at a cellular level across the Tree of Life, uncovering evolutionarily conserved and species-specific mechanisms of social behavior, and understanding mechanisms of human mental disorders. This conference will take place all day June 17 and 18 at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology and online. There is also an opportunity to submit an abstract for a poster presentation.
In addition to the conference, we are happy to offer a public Nalbandov Keynote Lecture by John Constantino on June 17 at 4:00pm at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center. Dr. Constantino is a Professor of Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Behavioral Sciences at the Emory University School of Medicine and the Liz and Frank Blake Chair of Children’s Behavioral and Mental Health and inaugural System Chief of Behavioral and Mental Health (BMH) at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
These events are free and open to all, though we kindly request an RSVP to attend. To RSVP, and for more information, please visit https://www.igb.illinois.edu/igb-calendar/brain-evolution-and-mental-health-conference.
This event is organized by the Gene Networks in Neural and Developmental Plasticity group at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, in connection with the Kellner Center for Neurogenomics, Behavior, and Society.
